The last meeting of September will present you, the Guelph resident, the opportunity to revisit just about anything previously discussed at this month’s two Committee of the Whole meetings (at least one of them hasn’t happened yet as of the publishing of this preview). From downtown renewal to second quarter financials to a possible renoviction bylaw, here’s your second bite at the apple!
NOTE #1: Delegates will be able to appear at this meeting in-person or via tele-presense but you do have to register with the clerks office before 10 am on Friday September 20. You can also submit written delegations and correspondences for agenda items.
NOTE #2: In addition to meeting in-person, this meeting will also be live-streamed on the City of Guelph’s website here.
CLOSED MEETING:
Council Consideration: Authority to Commence Legal Claim – What council is being asked to stake a claim to is unknown, but since this is about legal advice, it will be discussed under Section 239(2)(e) and (f) of the Municipal Act because it’s “regarding litigation or potential litigation, including matters before administrative tribunals, affecting the municipality or local board and advice that is subject to solicitor-client privilege, including communications necessary for that purpose.”
Consent Agenda items from the Committee of the Whole meetings on September 4 and September 17. (Items can be pulled by a councillor seeking additional information, otherwise all items will be voted on as a slate without further debate.)
