This Week at Council: Money Matters, But Not Too Much
There were two main topics on the agenda for the last Committee of the Whole meeting of 2025 and they both had to do with money, this year’s money. Appropriate for the first meeting after the budget confirmation process that we continue on with money stuff, but if you’re looking for controversy then this is not the meeting for you. What went down was pretty straightforward. Short and sweet. Here’s the recap… Continue reading “This Week at Council: Money Matters, But Not Too Much”
City Council Preview – What’s on the Agenda for the December 16, 2025 Meeting?

Committee of the Whole Preview – What’s on the Agenda for the December 2, 2025 Meeting?
It’s the last Committee of the Whole meeting of the year, and perhaps fittingly it’s about money matters. On this agenda, there are two main reports about the financial past and the financial future as we look back at the third quarter from near the end of the fourth, and then we will look ahead to the accounting of the whole fiscal 2025 and the external audit. City Council Preview – What’s on the Agenda for the November 26, 2024 Meeting?
Like last month’s regular meeting, this one takes place the day before a budget meeting, and like last month’s meeting it might be deceptively straightforward. There’s only one item to be revisited from Committee of the Whole, and then there are a couple of items on the closed meeting agenda, but is that the end of the story? We will have to wait until November 26 to know for sure, but for now, here’s the preview! Continue reading “City Council Preview – What’s on the Agenda for the November 26, 2024 Meeting?”

Let’s see what happened via the following recap… Continue reading “This Week at Council: Committee Lays Pipe for New Enbridge Contract”

Committee of the Whole Preview – What’s on the Agenda for the November 5, 2024 Meeting?
November’s Committee of the Whole meeting will be largely straightforward but with matters of pretty big importance, especially if you like the timely and appropriate collection of your recyclables. That’s one of two matters on this agenda, the other is a matter of renewing the City of Guelph’s franchise agreement with a utility company and that one promises to get a little bit spicy.
