In six days, the doors of Guelph’s Consumption and Treatment site will close for the last time. Unless a Charter challenge in an Ontario court succeeds, the Ontario government’s mandate to close a dozen different CTSes and replacement them with new Homelessness and Addiction Recovery Treatment, or HART, Hubs. RECAP: Too Many Unanswered Questions About CTS Closure Impact at Social Services

Some questions were answered, but other questions lingered as this month’s meeting of the Joint Social Services and Land Ambulance Committee  wrapped up. It wasn’t all bad news, of course. There are, it seems, some good things that are going to come out the propose HART HUB,  but the exact impact from the closure of the consumption and treatment site is still hard to know. GUELPH POLITICAST #413 – ARCH is Gone But Their Services Remain

HIV/AIDS Resources and Community Health, or ARCH, suddenly announced its closure last week. Losing ARCH impacts a wide variety of people in Guelph and area, whether that’s HIV prevention and care, needle exchanges and harm reduction, or gender affirming and trans healthcare.
