MEETING PREVIEW: Accessibility Advisory Committee for April 18, 2023

After taking a scheduled month off, the Accessibility Advisory Committee gets back to business with their regular meeting, and the agenda will cover matters coming in the immediate future and the sort of far future. Feedback will be sought about a permanent patio policy, accessibility of playground equipment, traffic calming, community engagement and the 2026 municipal election. RECAP: This Month, Board of Health Looks at Sex, Drugs and Rabies

April’s meeting of the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Board of Health was an occasion because it was the first meeting that took place largely in-person since before the start of the pandemic. Appropriately, vaccination was a big point of discussion in the meeting and so were programs to fight sexually transmitted infections, the opioid crisis and why spring means more awareness of rabies and the avian flu. MEETING PREVIEW: Board of Health Meeting for April 5, 2023

April’s Board of Health meeting for Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph brings you sex and drugs, but no rock and roll. Or, to be more precise, it’s bringing you an update on fighting the opioid epidemic as well as an update on fighting sexually transmitted infections, which are both very serious issues despite the above joke. RECAP: Transit Committee Looks to the Future at March Meeting

RECAP: Heritage Guelph Chooses What Heritage Properties They Want to Save (First?)

This month’s Heritage Guelph meeting gained some forward momentum on the heritage planning work plan in the City’s 1,700 designation eligible properties now paired down to an opening line-up of 10 for staff to start with. In other news, the committee sent the heritage designation for 65 Delhi Street to council while also looking at a designation for the Albion, which, during the meeting, was given an all-new nickname it’s apparently had all this time.
