Everyone was prepared for a long one at the planning meeting of city council this month, but in the end length was relative. Council once again had a look at doing five units as-of-right, and it turns out feelings about it haven’t changed, and then they looked at a new grant to get housing built. Here’s the recap… Continue reading “This Week at Council: No to Five Units, Yes to More Grants”

City Council Preview – What’s on the Agenda for the May 12, 2026 Meeting?
This month’s planning meeting is going to be a difficult one, and perhaps even a lengthy one. City Council Preview – What’s on the Agenda for the March 10, 2026 Meeting?

There will be two statutory planning meetings for this month’s planning meeting, and there will also be two new heritage designations, and if we’re talking about housing this much, then it makes sense for staff to combine their talents and present to council the sum and total of the City of Guelph’s housing development initiatives, this far.
