There are 145,000 stories in the Royal City, and this is some of them. Looking at a week’s worth of media releases from the Guelph Police Service, there’s a lot going on in our little city crime-wise speaking, so let’s run down some of the charges, issues, and requests for information from the Guelph Police Service over the last seven days.

Assault
On Tuesday evening, a 35-year-old Guelph woman was arrested for assault and uttering threats for an incident last month where a woman was walking back to her apartment from the laundry room when she was confronted by another resident known to her. She was struck and knocked down, then punched several times in the head. She did not require medical attention.
A 37-year-old Guelph man faces new charges of possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, failing to appear in court and six counts of breaching court orders last Friday evening. Officers spotted a man downtown known to be wanted on a warrant for missing a court date. As they approached, the man pointed a bat at them while yelling. He was also found with a spring-assisted knife.
A 39-year-old Guelph man was charged with robbery, assault police and breaching a probation order last Friday after a man walked out with a cart full of groceries near Eramosa and Stevenson and threatened two employees who tried to stop him. He was located by police a short distance away, became verbally aggressive and threatened to officers and reached into his pocket implying he had a weapon.
A 22-year-old Guelph woman was charged with possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose and assault with a weapon last Friday afternoon after a woman who has previously stolen from the business near Norfolk and Quebec came back into the store. The clerk asked her to leave and the woman became upset and removed a knife from her pocket, unfolding it and waving it towards the clerk before leaving the store.
Theft
On Thursday, a 34-year-old Guelph woman was arrested for three counts of theft under $5,000 and driving while suspended. This is the third person arrested in a Break Enter Auto Theft Unit into a series of thefts at businesses in Guelph and Campbelville that began last May and June. Two people were arrested last month.
A 52-year-old Guelph man was arrested for robbery and uttering threats Tuesday afternoon where a man trying to sell an e-bike met a potential buyer at an address on Speedvale. The supposed buyer took the bike and refused to pay, but when the seller demanded the e-bike be returned the other man picked up a knife and began chasing him while yelling threats.
Theft (Auto)
For the second week in a row, there’s been a raft of Jeep thefts from around Guelph. Just before 6 am Thursday a resident near Elmira and Rochelle reported her white four-door 2026 Wrangler had been stolen, just after 10 am a resident near Arkell and Colonial reported her black four-door 2024 Wrangler had been stolen from the driveway overnight, and then a resident near MacAlister and Ambrous reported her white 2025 Gladiator had been damaged overnight in an apparent theft attempt. On Wednesday, a Honda CRV stolen last month from the driveway of an east-end residence was recovered by police in a nearby jurisdiction and seized for examination
Traffic
The Guelph Police Traffic Unit is looking to speak with the driver of a dark-coloured, late-model Ford Mustang that was involved in an incident on July 30, just before noon, at the intersection of Edinburgh and Ironwood. They’re asking anyone at or near this intersection at the time and witnessed this driving behavior, have dashcam footage, know this driver or vehicle, or have any information at all to contact Constable Kent Schneider at kschneider [at] guelphpolice.ca.
A 30-year-old Guelph woman was charged with driving while suspended on Tuesday morning after a cruiser’s automated licence plate reader flagged a vehicle owned by a suspended driver near Willow and Silvercreek.
Other Notes
A 37-year-old man faces nine counts of breaching probation orders after he was caught – again – breaching release orders within hours of being released from custody last Friday. He was released from the Maplehurst Correctional Complex in the afternoon and was observed downtown hours later despite the fact that he’s bound by several probation orders, including two with conditions he not attend certain addresses downtown.
Last Friday afternoon, a 24-year-old Guelph man was arrested for two counts of voyeurism and two counts of criminal harassment for an incident in June where a resident of Gordon Street reported seeing someone outside her window on a number of occasions. Around the same time a witness reported seeing a man looking in a window in the same complex while it appeared someone was inside changing their clothes. He was caught again on motion-activated surveillance cameras several times in July, and one of those times he appeared to be touching himself.
Guelph Police are appealing to other potential additional victims and witnesses as part the investigation. In a separate media release, police note that between August 2025 and July 2026, the man identified as 24-year-old Bryce Sukhdeo attended several addresses in areas where university students are known to live. Investigators believe he entered unfenced backyards, approached homes and looked through basement or ground-floor bedroom windows to observe people in private settings.
