We open up three weeks of double meetings with Committee of the Whole and this one, which is yet another shareholder meeting for Guelph Municipal Holdings Inc, the holding company the City of Guelph uses to secure it’s four per cent stake in Alectra Utilities. What is this meeting about? We can’t say, even in preview form, because all information is seemingly confidential, but for what it’s worth, here’s the preview!
NOTE #1: Delegates will be able to appear at this meeting in-person or via tele-presense but you do have to register with the clerks office before 10 am on Friday June 20. You can also submit written delegations and correspondences for agenda items.
NOTE #2: In addition to meeting in-person, this meeting will also be live-streamed on the City of Guelph’s website here.
CLOSED MEETING:
GMHI Shareholder Information and Alectra Update – It seems like we’ve got some late breaking news on the Guelph Municipal Holdings Inc front, at least late enough to have missed the shareholder meeting earlier this week. What is it? Can’t say, but it is categorized under “a trade secret or scientific, technical, commercial, financial or labour relations information, supplied in confidence to the municipality or local board, which, if disclosed, could reasonably be expected to prejudice significantly the competitive position or interfere significantly with the contractual or other negotiations of a person, group of persons, or organization.” In other words, this meeting will be mostly in-camera.
Now, there will be a “Closed Meeting Summary” afterward, but it’s not known if the shareholder will disclose what was discussed in-camera, or if there will be a motion they need approve in the open session. They will, however, approve the minutes from the June shareholder meeting instead of waiting till next June apparently.
