The Transit Advisory Committee will be meeting again to consider a new slate of policy, budget, and scheduling decisions. On the agenda this month, are the usual submissions like rider feedback and the general update, and under new items there’s an update about budget implications for transit and some in-progress changes to three bus routes in the northwest. Let’s get into the preview for May…
NOTE #1: This meeting takes place at 5:30 pm in Committee Meeting Room A at City Hall and you can also watch it online via a link provided in the meeting agenda.

Budget Update – There’s been a great deal ebb and flow on the 2025 budget, and as previously discussed in past meetings, the mayor’s intention to have the 2025 budget increase under four per cent will mean further delays in implementing route and schedule improvements, including ones planned for this fall like the introduction of early morning and evening on-demand Sunday service. No written report was included in the agenda.
RAPP Review of Routes 3, 11 and 20– As discussed at the previous meeting, these three routes were all studied at the same time since they covered much of the same ground in the northwest corner of town. Transit staff recently performed Review and Planning
Programme (RAPP) reviews on all three routes and have initiated some schedule changes to improve on-time performance both now and in September, and based on that insight, there may be further changes in the future like moving 20-minute service from the #3 Westmount to the #11 Silvercreek.
TAC Members’ Feedback – This the monthly opportunity for members of the committee to ask questions about current service issues. There’s nothing on the agenda yet.
General Transit Update, including Electric Buses – Management staff will be on-hand to offer updates on any pressing transit business that’s not been covered in any of the above topics and categories, and that includes the ongoing roll out of the new electric buses.
