By the time we get here it will have been a busy month at (virtual) city council, so we have a nice, easy regular meeting where most of the action seems to be contained to the closed session. Everything else will re-run what we saw before at Committee of the Whole unless there’s some late, breaking council business.
NOTE #1: Delegates will be able to appear at this meeting via telephone, but you do have to register with the clerks office before 10 am on February 19. You can also submit written delegations and correspondences for agenda items.
NOTE #2: The meeting will be closed to the public, though it will be live-streamed on the City of Guelph’s website here.
1. International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) Bargaining Report – Since this concerns matters “relating to labour relations or employee negotiations” council is hearing this matter in closed session. But obviously, this has to due with a new contract for IATSE employees at the River Run Centre whose two-year contract expired at the end of last year.
2. Union Bargaining Considerations Report – The same consideration applies here since this is about matters “relating to labour relations or employee negotiations,” but the agenda doesn’t identify the union being negotiated with. By process of elimination though, this could be the beginning of discussion about the Amalgamated Transit Union negotiations since their contract expires this coming June.
Consent Agenda items from the Committee of the Whole meeting* on February 1. (Items can be pulled by a councillor seeking additional information, otherwise all items will be voted on as a slate without further debate.)
