The deadline for adding or withdrawing your name for candidacy in this fall’s election was July 27, but there’s still one person who’s saying that she’s not in the running anymore. At least unofficially. In other words, Juanita Burnett doesn’t want to be your choice for school board trustee in Ward 1 and 5 of the Upper Grand District School Board.

“I have decided I don’t have the energy to run in another election right now,” Burnett told Guelph Politico. “I missed the deadline to withdraw, so I took some time to decide, but I’m not going to be campaigning.”

If you’re disappointed, don’t worry, there are still eight people running for UGDSB trustee for Ward 1 and 5, including incumbents Mark Bailey and Martha MacNeil.
