MEETING PREVIEW: Grand River Conservation Membership Meeting for February 28, 2025

This month, the Grand River Conservation Membership meeting falls on the last day of the month, so what have they saved the best for last? Well they’ve certainly saved their budget for last out of all the area shared services, so we will get that final vote at this meeting. RECAP: GRCA Board Approves Changes to Land Acquisition and Disposition Policies

Proving that summer vacation is winding down, the Grand River Conservation Authority membership board met for their August meeting Friday, and despite the month off they weren’t able to escape some of the controversies that chased them at the June meeting, especially around the topic of land acquisition and disposition. We welcome the first week of spring with an appropriate meeting, the monthly Grand River Conservation Authority membership board meeting! MEETING PREVIEW: Grand River Conservation Membership Meeting for February 23, 2024

If it’s February at the Grand River Conservation Authority then that means it’s time for the Annual General Meeting for the membership board, and if it’s the AGM, then that means it’s time for the final passage of the budget. Not much has changed with the budget in the last 30 days, just about half-a-million dollars or so, but there’s a lot of meeting to get through before the last word on the budget and that includes a lot of audit stuff. There’s no January chill at the Grand River Conservation Authority, and this month there’s a lot of end of the year/beginning of the year business to get to including, perhaps most importantly, the budget. RECAP: GRCA Board Pressed Again to Save Nature Centres

Like many boards, this month marks the last meeting of the year for the Grand River Conservation Authority membership, and there were a couple of issues addressed that are going to be an ongoing issue as we enter the new year. RECAP: GRCA Board Has Concerns About Outdoor Education Changes

This month, the Grand River Conservation Authority membership got in on the growing number of budget activities, but that’s not where the controversy laid at this month’s board meeting.
