City Council Preview – What’s on the Agenda for the February 24, 2026 Meeting?

This is the last meeting for February, and if you thought it was all leading to something, you might be disappointed. Unless something comes up in the next week, this will be largely straightforward with council revisiting Committee of the Whole business and discussing something in closed session, but on the plus side this is the first of a month-long series of meetings that will take place in the morning. Here’s the preview (such as it is).

NOTE #1: Delegates will be able to appear at this meeting in-person or via tele-presense but you do have to register with the clerks office before 10 am on Friday February 20. You can also submit written delegations and correspondences for agenda items.

NOTE #2: In addition to meeting in-person, this meeting will also be live-streamed on the City of Guelph’s website here.

NOTE #3: This meeting starts at 10 am in lieu of the regular start in recognition of the Holy Month of Ramadan and those that celebrate in the Muslim faith.

CLOSED MEETING:

Neeve Street Parking Lot: Development Opportunity – This sounds like it might be interesting, but council is only discussing it in-camera. This is a matter “regarding a proposed or pending acquisition or disposition of land by the municipality or local board” so it will be discussed in closed under section 239(2)(c) of the Municipal Act.

Consent Agenda items from the Committee of the Whole meetings on February 3. (Items can be pulled by a councillor seeking additional information, otherwise all items will be voted on as a slate without further debate.)

  • Internal Audit Work Plan 2026-2028
  • Council Remuneration Review
  • Water and Wastewater Servicing Allocation Policy and Bylaw
  • City-Wide Parking Strategy Terms of Reference
