MEETING PREVIEW: Transit Advisory Committee Meeting for September 19, 2024

Another committee that’s getting the band back together after summer vacation is the Transit Advisory Committee. With everyone back at school, and all the school year routes back in business, plus a new transit service expansion making its way across town (we’ll get to that), there’s going to be a lot of stuff to discuss as TAC gathers around the committee room table for the first time since June.

NOTE #1: This meeting takes place at 5:30 pm in Committee Room A at City Hall. You can also find a link to attend the meeting virtually on the meeting agenda at the City’s website. (See below.)

NOTE #2: For alternate meeting formats please contact judi.prigione [at] guelph.ca or call 519-822-1260 ext. 3863.

Summary of the August 20, 2024 Meeting with the Transit Action Alliance of Guelph (TAAG) – A couple of weeks ago members of TAC and Transit staff had a sit down with members of Guelph’s main transit advocacy group. Chair Susan Carey will lead the discussion about what came out of that meeting, but there’s no formal written report included in the agenda.

Sunday On-Demand Update – Laura Catalano-Bragues, Manager of Transit Network Design and Control Centre, will talk about the impact of addition of on-demand service on Sunday mornings and Sunday evenings that went into effect on Labour weekend. No formal report was attached to the agenda.

TAC Members’ Feedback – This the monthly opportunity for members of the committee to ask questions about current service issues. There’s nothing on the agenda yet.

General Transit Update, including Electric Buses – Management staff will be on-hand to offer updates on any pressing transit business that’s not been covered in any of the above topics and categories, and that includes the ongoing roll out of the new electric buses.
