There are 145,000 stories in the Royal City, and this is some of them. Looking at a week’s worth of media releases from the Guelph Police Service, there’s a lot going on in our little city crime-wise speaking, so let’s run down some of the charges, issues, and requests for information from the Guelph Police Service over the last seven days.

Homicide
An investigation into a missing 45-year-old Guelph man named Kenny has turned into a homicide investigation. Missing since early October, Kenny was located deceased outside of Guelph by Guelph Police officers on October 27, at which point the homicide investigation began. A 43-year-old Guelph man, 39-year-old Guelph man and 47-year-old Guelph woman were announced to have been arrested for accessory after the fact to murder on Thursday, and the arrest of a 37-year-old Guelph man for the same charge was announced Friday.

Assault
Police are investigating after a Brampton man was stabbed in the leg during a Halloween party last Saturday night at a home near Stone and Watson. The 18-year-old victim was attempting to diffuse a disturbance outside the house when he felt a sharp pain in his leg. He noticed a cut in his pants and that he was bleeding. He was transported to hospital for treatment of a minor injury.
Witnesses described the males involved in the altercation to be several brown males with beards and a white male with a beard and grey sweater. All were wearing construction worker costumes. Break-Ins
Police are looking for a man described as wearing a dark jacket with the hood up, dark pants, gloves, a baseball cap and a face mask who smashed the glass front door of a business at Dawson and Willow and stole the cash register and a small amount of cash early last Saturday morning causing $500 in damage. Drugs

Fraud
A 23-year-old Guelph woman was arrested and charged with fraud over $5,000 after defrauding her employer, a Guelph retailer, for more than $16,000 through hundreds of transactions. The employee completed more than 200 fraudulent transactions during her 15-month employment, processing returns as credits to her personal debit card.

Impaired Driving
A 27-year-old Kitchener man was charged with impaired driving and dangerous driving, plus his driver’s licence was suspended for 90 day, after a vehicle struck a light standard near Willow West Mall on Wednesday night and fled the area. The car was located nearby with significant driver’s-side damage, and the driver was transported to hospital for minor injuries to his face and upper body.
A 23-year-old Guelph woman was charged with impaired driving, stunt driving and speeding, plus her licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle was impounded for 14 days after a traffic stop near Gordon and Kortright on Thursday afternoon. The woman reportedly had three times the legal amount of alcohol in her system and she was stopped doing 94 kilometres per hour in a 50 zone in her black BMW.
A 45-year-old Georgetown woman was charged with impaired driving, driving while prohibited, failing to stop at a collision and driving without insurance after someone reported that they were rear-ended by a vehicle that fled the scene at Gordon and Kortright last Saturday afternoon.
A 41-year-old Fergus man was charged with impaired driving after police were called to Eramosa and Stevenson and reports of a passed out driver last Saturday night. Officers noted an odour of alcoholic beverage on the driver’s breath and observed an empty liquor bottle in the passenger footwell.
A 44-year-old Guelph man was charged with impaired driving after a a minor collision at Fife Road and Wellington on Sunday afternoon. There was a brief verbal altercation between the drivers and one of them drove away. Officers located the driver at his home, noted damage to the vehicle and was charged.
A 27-year-old Brantford man was charged with impaired driving after a driver in a white pickup truck lost control, drove into a ditch and struck a Bell utility box causing more than $5,000 in damage. The driver then reversed out of the ditch and fled the scene, but was located and pulled over a short distance away.
Theft
A 27-year-old Guelph man wanted for robbery, mischief under and two counts of breaching a Probation Order was arrested at a north end hotel on Tuesday afternoon after the report of a disturbance. He was also charged with weapons dangerous and fail to appear in court after police found a collapsible baton.
A 21-year-old Guelph woman was charged with theft under $5,000 and possessing stolen property under $5,000 after stopping a woman near Starwood and Summit in response to a report about someone in the area removing packages from a porch. She was found to be in possession of an open Amazon package in someone else’s name, and she was identified as the same woman who had been involved in a similar theft a day earlier from another home in the area.
Traffic
Police are looking for a light-coloured Tesla and its driver after a 20-year-old from the Barrie area was struck while crossing Oak Street at Gordon at 12:30 pm Tuesday. The pedestrian suffered minor lower-body injuries, and it is believed the Tesla sustained front-end damage. A 29-year-old Guelph man was charged with speeding and stunt driving, plus his licence was suspended for 30 days, after the Traffic Unit clocked an Acura SUV travelling 94 kilometres per hour in a posted 50 zone on Gordon near Kortright.
Other Notes
Police are looking for a black male, late 20s, approximately 6’3” who was reportedly following a 22-year-old woman and her friend, and probably filming them on his phone, at Stone Road Mall last Friday. He was wearing a grey sweater, black pants, white shoes, a beanie-style hat and blue medical mask. A similar incident involving the same man was reported on October 10. A 31-year-old Guelph man was arrested and charged for obstruct police, fail to comply with a DNA order and fail to comply with an undertaking after he gave police a fake name when he refuse to leave a downtown establishment on Tuesday during the lunch hour.
