Looking at a week’s worth of media releases from the Guelph Police Service, there’s a lot going on in our little city crime-wise speaking, so let’s run down some of the charges, issues, and requests for information from the Guelph Police Service over the last seven days.

Assault
A 13-year-old female was arrested for assault on Monday for an incident at Guelph Central Station downtown last Saturday when she confronted another teenage female boarding the bus and a verbal argument escalated to a slap to the face.
A 25-year-old Guelph man was charged with two counts of carrying a concealed weapon, possessing a prohibited weapon and three counts of breaching court orders on top of other charges including motor vehicle theft and dangerous driving after police picked him up for that outstanding warrant near Westmount and London. A search revealed a folding knife, bear spray and brass knuckles.
A 20-year-old Grand Valley man was charged with possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose and assault with a weapon early last Sunday morning after he pulled a knife on the staff member of a downtown establishment who asking him to stop smoking on their patio.
A 31-year-old Guelph man was charged with two counts of assault police, resisting arrest, criminal harassment and two counts of breaching an undertaking after police responded to a family dispute near Downey and Pheasant last Friday evening. The suspect scratched one officer on the arm and kicked the other in the shin after a brief foot chase.
Break-Ins
A Break Enter Auto Theft (BEAT) unit investigation into a series of break and enters in residences and businesses downtown culminated in the arrest of a 22-year-old Guelph man on Tuesday. A search of the suspect’s residence revealed break in instruments and numerous pieces of stolen property including identity documents, keys, jewellery, and financial documents. The suspect is charged with four counts of break and enter, three counts of attempted break and enter, three counts of possessing identity documents, wearing a disguise while committing an offence, possessing property obtained by crime and breaching probation.
Drugs
Three people were stopped by police after they were driving their motorcycles at a high rate of speed through Guelph on Wednesday afternoon. Members of the Break Enter Auto Theft (BEAT) Unit noticed that one of the bikes had a fake licence plate and a traffic stop was conducted at Woodlawn and Elmira. During a search, 89 grams of crystal meth valued at $1,500 was found in the backpack of a female passenger on one of the motorcycles.
A 28-year-old Mount Forest man was charged with three counts of Operate While Prohibited, Drive While Under Suspension, Use Plate Not Authorized, and Possession For The Purpose Of Trafficking. A 29-year-old Palmerston man was charged with 10 counts of Operate While Prohibited and Possession For The Purpose Of Trafficking. And a 30-year-old Listowel woman was charged with Possession For The Purpose Of Trafficking.

Impaired Driving
A 58-year-old Guelph woman was charged with Impaired Operation Of A Conveyance, and Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration after collision at Eramosa and Meyer on Thursday afternoon. An adult male was transported to Guelph General Hospital for treatment of neck and back pain after being rear-ended by the woman while stopped at a red light.
A 61-year-old Guelph man charged with impaired operation, failing to stop at an accident, driving while prohibited and two counts of breaching a release order after a hit and run Sunday evening. A witness reported that an SUV had struck a parked car in a plaza at Gordon and Clair, and police found the SUV a short time later with fresh front end damage. Police discovered that he was a suspended driver and was on bail with conditions including a prohibition from driving.
Theft
A 57-year-old Guelph woman was charged with theft under $5,000, fail to comply with an undertaking and breach of probation after trying to shoplift five packages of raw steak valued at $80 from a store downtown.
A 17-year-old Guelph male was charged with Robbery and Drive Motor Vehicle – No License after he took the car of a female friend when she refused to take him to Kitchener on Wednesday.
A 33-year-old Guelph woman was charged with Theft Under $5,000 and Failing To Comply With Probation after she grabbed another woman’s purse and made a run for it at a downtown establishment on Tuesday afternoon.
Traffic
A 22-year-old Fergus man was charged with Speeding and Stunt Driving after getting caught doing 105 kilometres per hour in a 60 zone near Stone and Victoria on Wednesday.
A 32-year-old Guelph man was located downtown and arrested Monday for dangerous driving and two counts of failing to stop at a collision. The charges are for an incident last month where a stolen white Chevrolet pickup struck two parked vehicles on Wellington Street, and then struck a person riding an e-bike at Macdonell and Wyndham.
A 58-year-old Guelph woman was charged with careless driving after a man on a bike crossing the street at Woolwich and Woodlawn was struck by a van making a right turn. He was transported to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
An 11-year-old boy was crossing the road at Victoria and Hadati on his bike Tuesday morning when he was struck by an SUV. The boy was transported to hospital for treatment of minor injuries, and no charges will be laid.
A 53-year-old woman was transported to hospital to be treated for minor injuries after she crashed her motorcycle to avoid geese crossing the street at Wellington and Surrey.
A 21-year-old Stoney Creek man was charged with dangerous driving, flight from police and stunt driving, plus his licence was suspended for 30 days after police clocked him doing 129 kilometres per hour in a 50 zone on Gordon Street just after midnight last Saturday morning. The BMW motorcycle the suspect was riding was impounded for 14 days.
Other Notes
A 13-year-old Guelph male was charged with voyeurism after a hidden cellphone recording video has found in a hiding spot in the girls washroom of a south end elementary school.
A 30-year-old Guelph man has been charged with Fail To Attend Court after he was caught by police near Metcalfe and Eramosa on Wednesday night. He was wanted for missing a court date in May to answer for 27 different counts including fraud and possession of stolen property.
