MEETING PREVIEW: Accessibility Advisory Committee for June 16, 2025

It’s going to be a pretty laid back June meeting for the Accessibility Advisory Committee with really one major topic on the agenda. If you’re not tired yet talking about the area around the corner of Victoria and Stone, you will definitely want to chew on this as the AAC will look at the environmental assessment for that whole area and the road improvement plans for this major, and growing, intersection in the east end. Here’s the preview!

NOTE #1: This meeting will take place in Meeting Room A at City Hall, but you can also watch it on video via Microsoft Teams. (Find the link on the meeting agenda.)

NOTE #2: Accessibility-related accommodations available upon timely request to the committee liaison at 519-822-1260 extension 5603; TTY 519-826-9771 email: AdvisoryCommittees [at] guelph.ca.

NOTE #3: The meeting begins at 3 pm and is expected to wrap up around 5 pm.

Victoria Road and Stone Road Environmental Assessment – This has been under study for some time with the aim of improving traffic capacity, transit service, pedestrian accessibility, cycling infrastructure, and environmental protection in the area of Victoria Road South between York Road and Stone Road, and Stone Road East between Victoria Road and Watson Parkway. The preferred design is a four road segments, which includes four lanes of traffic, new sidewalks and cycling infrastructure. There will also be a new trail crossing at the Guelph Radial Line Trail, a new roundabout at Stone Road East and Watson Parkway South, and protected intersections throughout the corridor. The committee will be asked about their feedback before the plan is finalized.
