No time for love the day after Valentine’s Day because the Transit Advisory Committee has to get down to business. The agenda is deceptively light, because one of the items will require TAC to take a good, long look at itself. The clerks’ office is coming to this meeting to look at how TAC might fit into the grand scheme of things so far as the future of advisory committees go, and there’s also matters of rider feedback and general updates to discuss.

Redesigning Advisory Committees of Council: Phase 2 – As you may know, the clerks’ office is working with Guelph Labs at the University of Guelph to come up with a new framework for the operation of advisory groups at the City of Guelph, including the Transit Advisory Committee. Like he did earlier this week with Heritage Guelph, Deputy Clerk Dylan McMahon will be a featured guest at this meeting to take part in the first of two sessions with the committee to look over the framework passed by council last fall, and how best TAC can fit within it.

General Transit Update, including Electric Buses – Management staff will be on-hand to offer updates on any pressing transit business that’s not been covered in any of the above topics and categories, and that includes the ongoing roll out of the new electric buses.
