This month’s Transit Advisory Committee meeting will be a brief one it seems. There’s only three topics on the agenda along with the usual general update from transit management including the status of the fleet’s four electric buses. Mostly, it seems like this meeting will be dealing with matters of feedback, so if you have a question or concern, reach out to a TAC member near you. In the meantime, here’s the agenda…
NOTE #1: This meeting takes place at 5:30 pm in Committee Meeting Room A at City Hall.
NOTE #2: For alternate meeting formats please contact judi.prigione [at] guelph.ca or call 519-822-1260 ext. 3863.
Air Filters on Transit Buses – This was brought up at the last meeting. There were some conversations in meeting about what kind of air filters the buses have since winter is coming and the rates of COVID-19, as well as cold and flu, will be higher. Michael Van Kooy from fleet electrification explained that a baseline bus was 93.8 per cent effective, and there was only a difference of two per cent with the top of the line filter, but staff have taken the liberty of preparing more information in a verbal report.
TAC Rider Feedback – This is the regularly scheduled part of the meeting where members of TAC can ask questions they’ve been given about matters of transit operations from members of the public. One of the topics this month will be the posting of detours and other information about transit changes on social media, and the potential to create an AMA (ask me anything) series for transit users.
General Transit Update, including Electric Buses – Management staff will be on-hand to offer updates on any pressing transit business that’s not been covered in any of the above topics and categories, and that includes the ongoing roll out of the new electric buses.
