MANGEZ! Dine Safe Guide for January 16-31, 2019

Twice-monthly, Guelph Politico posts the latest inspection results from the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health Unit inspection of local restaurants, hotels, cafes, grocery stores and other businesses that handle food. We call it “Mangez!”, and this column highlights the latest inspections done by WDGPH, and the results they’ve posted.

Here are the inspections done between January 16-31 according to the “Check Before You Choose” website.

*Non-critical infraction: An infraction (violation) that is not likely to lead to food-borne illness or infection (e.g., lighting is not bright enough for food preparation or work areas).

A & W Restaurant, 555 Woodlawn Rd W (2 Non-Critical Infractions)

  • Ensure there is a certified food handler present on-site at all times of operation
  • Clean and sanitize washroom(s) at least once per day and as often as necessary

A & W Restaurant, 435 Stone Rd W (1 Non-Critical Infraction)

  • Where food is prepared or handled on-site, there is at least one food handler or supervisor on the premises who has completed the food handler training at the time of inspection

Dairy Queen, 9-995 Paisley Rd (1 Non-Critical Infraction)

  • Ensure there is a certified food handler present on-site at all times of operation

Fusion Authentic Indian Cuisine, 96 Gordon St (3 Non-Critical Infractions)

  • Ensure floors, walls, and ceilings are tight, smooth, and non-absorbent
  • Ensure wiping cloths are clean, handled properly, restricted to a single task and a sanitizing solution is used; Sanitizing solution must be prepared as often as is necessary to maintain the required concentration
  • Clean and sanitize washroom(s) at least once per day and as often as necessary; Equip facility with durable garbage can; Equip facility with paper towels in a dispenser / hot air dryer

  • Store utensils in manner preventing contamination
