Committee-of-the-Whole Meeting – February 6, 2017

Live blog from the meeting starting at 2 pm

  1. Committee has begun. 95% less Trump references from here on for the next hour or so…
  2. Cllr Downer begins public services portion. 1 item: Ellis Park master plan.
  3. Cllr Billings (whose ward this is) asks about timeline. Could it be done sooner than fall ’17?
  4. Cllr Gibson asks about getting an update on other future parks projects in the city.
  5. Removal of 2 outstanding motions from the Audit committee passes 12-0.
  6. Last up is Fuel Security and Systems Audit Report.
  7. There are 5 locations where city owned vehicles can fill up.
  8. Audit was done in mid-2016. Looked at processes and controls for fuel usage, reviewed monitoring activities and tank storage.
  9. Management has agreed to all recommendations in the report, created an action plan and come up with deadlines.
  10. Cllr Allt asks about the ratio of diesel to non-diesel and enviro effects.
    Staff: Not part of the scope, but could be explored.
  11. Staff: There was a purchasing card audit done prior to this one.
  12. Committee-of-the-Whole is wrapped in a tight 18 minutes.
